About

Hi, and welcome to Selected Pixels Photography.   This is an outlet for my love of all things photographic.  After God, my beautiful bride, and my four kids, there are only a few passions in my life.  Photography has become one of them.

My father was a professional news photographer, so I’ve been around cameras all of my life.  I used to go to special events (usually sports) with my dad and help carry equipment and run film back to the newspaper’s lab in order to make deadlines.  Then one day when I was about 14 he handed me a camera and told me to start shooting.  I was mildly interested in shooting from then until I was about 21.  But I didn’t really learn that much about the details and theory behind what I was doing.  It was “point and shoot” with whatever settings dad told me to use.

Once I got married my interest in photography was limited to documenting my kids’ childhoods.   But they are all adults now.  And of course everything is digital.  So in about 2005 I caught the bug.  Since then I’ve become much more of a student of photography.  I’m a voracious reader of photo blogs, book, and magazines.  I carry a camera everywhere I go.  I can’t get enough.

My goal for the blog is to let the images speak for themselves.  Simple.  Clean.  Uncluttered.

I welcome comments of all kinds.  Praise.  Critique.  Or just hellos.  Hopefully I’ll be able to post close to every day.  I’ll probably start with a few of my older images and then try to take new, daily shots.  Feel free to contact me through the comments or on the contact form page.

Thanks again for visiting Selected Pixels Photography!
